Education and Early Life
Her old house is in Darchula, western Nepal. She born and grew up there and she completed her LKG schooling from Darchula. Then she was brought to Kathmandu and continued her schooling. She finished her schooling from Kathmandu and currently studying Bachelor in Ace Institute of Management.

Both producer Bhuwan K.C and director Diwakar Bhattrai ware searching for two actresses for the movie Captain for a long time. Finally, they find a beautiful lady named Upasana Singh Thakuri. Jiya KC saw her picture on Instagram and called her for an audition. After meeting with Jiya KC, Bhuwan KC and Director Diwakar Bhattarai, she became the 6th actress to share the screen with Anmol KC on the big screen.
