TikTok is one of the most popular and most interesting social media apps on the planet was launched in 2017 by ByteDance, for markets outside of China. ByteDance has previously launched Douyin for the China market in September 2016.

Sensor Tower also reported that the total Bytedance mobile app in September 2019 was $14m, including $14m for iOS apps and $900k for Android apps. Total mobile app downloads for Bytedance was 89m, including 22m iOS app downloads and 67m Android app downloads. Bytedance has a total of 119 apps, including 58 iOS apps, and 61 Android apps. The company’s most downloaded app was TikTok.
