Sushant KC is one of the popular names in Nepali Music. He is best known for his soulful and melodious songs. His songs like Aama, Maya ma, Sathi are well acclaimed for their soulful melody and meaningful lyrics.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Sushant KC was born on February 2, 1996, in Lalitpur, Nepal. He is a single child in his family. He gave his SLC from Budhanikantha School and pursued an A level from Rato Bangla School. After completing high school, he went to Australia for his higher degree. He is currently majoring in business at UNSW college in Sydney, Australia.
MUSIC CAREER
Sushant KC was passionate about music since his childhood. He entreated his mother to buy him a guitar despite not knowing how to play it. He grew up hearing songs from The Uglyz band, Nima rumba, and other Nepali pop artists. He was highly influenced by them. But growing up, he was attracted to western music.He credits his musical inspiration to Ed Sheeren.
He used to sing in school programs. He was unsure about his music career until he met veteran lyricist Ramesh Dahal. He built his networks in the music world through him and was introduced to Rahul Pradhan. After completing SLC, he collaborated with them to produce and record a song that remained unreleased as he thought something wasn’t right. He took the gap from music and then, collaborated again in his high school and began his music career. He initially did not take music as a career as he was doing it for his passion but after receiving supports and positive feedback, he started to make more music.
AAMA: THE HIT DEBUT
Sushant KC worked with and Rahul Pradhan for his first debut album, The figments. The album had featured songs such as Aama, Kaha Jau, Again and Again, Falling Apart, and All I ever dreamed. Aama was hit and was well acclaimed for its melodious tone and meaningful lyrics. The lyrics are dedicated to all mothers. Sushant says it took him only 30 minutes to compose this beautiful song.
OTHER HITS : MAYA MA , MUSKURAYERA , SATHI
Sushant then released hit songs such as Muskurayera, Maya ma, Sathi, I like you, and so on. His songs are melodious and have meaningful lyrics that make him stand apart from other music artists. He is also called Edsheeren of Nepal by his fans. In an interview with Party Nepal, he said Ed Sheeren is one of his biggest influences and he feels happy to get that compliment. He regards Sajjan Raj Vaidya as his influence and would like to collaborate with him and other artists such as Laure and Rohit Shakya.
