Riya Basnet Early Age & Education
Riya Basnet was born on 19 July 1996 in Kathmandu. Riya completed her School Leaving Certificate from Paragon school. Then, she joined United Academy as a science student. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Kathmandu University School of Management.
Beauty Pageant Career
Riya Basnet is a business student so she did not think of getting into the glamourous field. But after winning the Miss Nepal Earth title, she is in this field. However, she is not thinking of getting into movies, MVs, and other glamourous fields – she tells in an interview. Her future plan is to work for women empowerment and women entrepreneurship.

Young Roots developed two different projects, zero waste schools by encouraging school into a zero-waste school through upcycling, composting and educating all stakeholders at school to reduce the production of waste, and zero waste homes through our innovative ideas and programs.
