Nischan Basnet is a Nepali movie director-actor and producer. He began his directing career from the blockbuster movie Loot featuring Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Reecha Sharma, and Karma. He is one of the successful movie directors in Nepal. Nischal Basnet rose to fame as the director of the movie LOOT in 2012. He not only directed the movie but also excelled in the acting in movies like Kabaddi, Dui Rupiya.

Early Life and Education
He was born on 17 January 1981 in Birtamod from Amrita Basnet and Indra Basnet. He was very “Chanchale & Jiddi” type of person from his childhood. He completed her primary school from Jhapa. After completing SLC, he did his +2 from Mussoorie India. In his college life, he used to participate in various sports activities rather than focusing on the study.
After his intermediate level, he went to Australia for further education. He joined chef course in Australia for two years. But before completing his two years course, his college shut down due to a legal issue. He then returned to Nepal thinking of making a career in Nepali movie industry as a director.
After returning to Nepal, he joined Oscar International College to pursue Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies. During his college year, he thought of making different genre movie rather than traditional commercial movies. He worked for the script & Story of movie Loot. In 2012, he made Loot featuring Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Reecha Sharma, Karma, and other actors.
The film became Industry Hit at the box office and was Highest Grossing film in Nepal. The film is considered to be a game changer of Nepali cinema and from this film. Dayahang and Saugat became popular from this movie.

Nischal Basnet got married to beautiful actress Swastima Khadka on 17 February 2016. This hot couple is also known as Rashtriya Dai and Bhauju (National brother and sister in law).
