Early life And Education
Melina Rai’s family were migrated from Khotang to Morang. But Melina was born in Kurseong Darjeeling, India. She spent her childhood there with her grandmother. She joined schooling in Darjeeling until grade 3rd. When she was 10 years old she moved to Kathmandu with her father. She completed the rest of her schooling at Arun Jyoti Vidhya Mandir, Jorpati. Her father Jibes Rai music composer, the teacher, taught her everything about music.
Her passion for music from childhood led her to participate in various singing competitions. She continued learning and sharpening her voice along with her study. In 2059, she participated in “Bal Git Pratiyogita” organized by Radio Nepal.

She recorded her first song at the age of 12 as her father was a music composer. She rose to fame after her song “Kammar Mathi Patuk” won the heart of the Nepali audience.
She sang a thousand songs until today with some super-duper songs. She is the winner at the National level Aadhunik song competition 2065 organized by Radio Nepal. Has performed her vocal in more than 600 songs, She is also a playback singer, Has performed her vocal in more than 50+ movies. She received the Best Playback Singer Female award at the Radio Kantipur Awards 2017.
