EARLY LIFE
Melina Mainali was born on January 5, 2002, in Jhapa. She was born as the youngest daughter to the father Ram Prasad Mainali and mother Laxmi Maya Mainali. She has an elder sister namely Anita Mainali. She did her schooling from Jana Jyoti secondary school and +2 from Birendra Namuna Campus.
She was interested in music from her childhood. She says she feels blessed to have god gifted voice and she started to practice more to be good at it. She used to participate in Interschool singing competition and sing bhajan in the programs. She has won several awards for her singing in the programs. She says she learnt singing from the Bhajans.
MUSICAL CAREER
NEPAL IDOL: FAILED ATTEMPT
Melina auditioned for Nepal Idol at a young age but unfortunately, she wasn’t selected for the show. She says she took this failure as the lesson and started to practice more.
VOICE OF NEPAL: ROAD TO POPULARITY
Melina Mainali participated in Voice of Nepal season 3. She sang lau hai maya for her blind auditions and was selected to the Pramod team. She passed through the battle round and currently is one of the strong contestants in the show.
CHOTO CHA JINDAGI: THE DEBUT
After the popularity of the Voice of Nepal, Melina debuted in the music industry with Choto Cha Jindagi. The song was composed by Bhupu Pandey. The song was well acclaimed by the public for its content, composition and vocals. The song portraits the lifestyle of economic migrant or migrant worker in the far-western region of Nepal, where many people migrate to India seeking an improved standard of living, because of the conditions or job opportunities. Melina’s vocal was also well acclaimed by the public and she quickly made her name in Nepali Music Industry.
