Mechu Dhimal is a Nepali Singer, Composer, Song-Writer, Model and “Top 8 Finalists” of “Voice of Nepal Season 2”. She came to limelight after her outstanding performance in a singing reality show The Voice of Nepal. Mechu is a permanent resident of Urlabari, Morang, currently residing in Kathmandu and seeking her life in the Nepali music industry.
She used to compose songs earlier before actually coming to the show. She is a self-learner and aspiring playback singer. She uploads her songs on her Official Youtube Channel.

Mechu Dhimal Early Life
Mechu Dhimal was born in a Middle Lower-Class family in Urlabari Morang on 1994 Dec 27 (2051 Poush 12) as the first child of her parents. She has got three younger sisters. Because of her economic background and being an elder child, she had to struggle at an early age. She spent her childhood in farms and fields because her family had to rely completely on agriculture.
On top of that, her mother was a kidney stone patient. So she had to carry out most of the household tasks at a very young age. Her father is working in the middle east to support her family economically. Still, as of 2019, her father is working outside Nepal just to support the family.
Education
Mechu Dhimal was a very forward and extrovert type of student. She completed her schooling (SLC) from Sunagava Boarding School Urlabari, Morang. She then joined Unique College, in Damak Jhapa for +2. She completed +2 (in management) there and moved to Kathmandu for further study and to seek a successful career in the Nepali music industry. She has completed her Bachelors in Arts (BA) from Pashupati Multiple Campus, Chabahil.
Mechu Dhimal Musical Career
She was not an inborn singer. As a matter of fact, she realized that she could sing when she was in the 9th grade. Later in 2012, she recorded her first official song for the movie Bhumirakshak (Dhimal Language Movie).
She was a good dancer and all-rounder in her class. Her first singing performance was as the school function. After her performance, she started getting positive feedback about her voice and singing ability. Gradually, she found herself passionate in the music field. After completing SLC she decided to move Kathmandu for further study and music career. But unfortunately, due to family barriers, she could not come to Kathmandu. Instead, she joined +2 college in Jhapa.
After completing +2 in Jhapa, Mechu moved to Kathmandu where she lived with her aunty. She joined the music class with music teacher Jibesh Rai (Melina Rai’s father). After 8 months, she joined Do Re Mi music school, Jamal. From where, still (as of 2019), she has been receiving music class from Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.
She believes in gradual progress rather than quick success. She is doing hard work on succeeding in her dreams. She belongs to the “Shastriya Sangit” background.
Mechu Dhimal Debut Album
As of 2019, Mechu has sung more than 4 dozen songs of different genres. Her first album is “Mechu” which contains 5 songs of different genres.
The Voice of Nepal Journey
Mechu Dhimal is the top 8 finalists of the Voice of Nepal season II along with Sanish Shrestha, Aarif Rauf, Bikash Limbu, Geeta Sharma, Ram Limbu, Sanjay Mahat, Yankee Yolmo. She is on the team Pramod. She believes that this platform helped her to gain more audiences and showcase her talent.
