What is the Hult Prize?
The Hult Prize is considered as the Nobel Prize for students and the annual Hult Prize awards $1,000,000 for start-up funding to the team of students that develops the most radical and breakthrough idea to solve one of our world’s toughest social challenges. In partnership with the United Nations, the Hult Prize is hosting college and university events around the world in search of the next game-changing start-up.

Hult Prize at Tribhuvan University
The Hult Prize is a partnership among Hult International Business School and United Nations Foundation. The Hult Prize was established by Ahmad Ashkar and it is an annual year-long competition that crowdsources ideas from students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food, security, water access, energy and education aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and rewards the winners with ONE MILLION DOLLARS as the seed capital to launch the winning idea start-up. The Hult Prize, in collaboration with the United Nations, is the globe’s biggest engine for the launch of for-good, for-profit startups emerging from the university, where the students are required to prepare the Business plan based on different challenges each year.
The Hult Prize challenges young people to solve the world’s toughest issues by empowering them to make money, do good, and make life better for millions of people through the creation of for-good for-profit businesses.
Through leveraging human capital, knowledge, and the crowd like never before, the Hult Prize has helped launch social enterprises that share the common facets:

Hult prize 2021 challenge is “Food for good”. The 2021 challenge will create jobs, stimulate economies, reimagine supply chain, and improve outcomes for 10, 000,000 by 2030. This year the Hult prize is asking the teams around the world to build viable food enterprises that will impact the life of 10 million people in the next decade while strengthening communities, creating jobs, increasing income, and feeding the hungry.
Hult Prize at SOMTU
School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) has been selected to host the On Campus Program of the Hult Prize, the world’s largest student competition for the creation of new social businesses.
In the event where all the non-science/ non-technical students from colleges affiliated to Tribhuvan University all over Nepal can participate and present their business idea in accordance with the theme of Hult Prize 2021, with the team of maximum 4. This year’s Hult Prize at School of Management Tribhuvan University is led by Mr. Pramod Aryal, the HULT Campus Director.
Hult Prize On Campus Program
Hult Prize On Campus events is the quarterfinal round of the Hult Prize, the winners of which will advance to the Regionals Summit 2021. It is an opportunity to deliver social change by bringing Hult Prize programs at the college. As part of the On Campus Program, we will be able to train, educate, and inspire students by building an impact community in On-Campus events. This year’s Hult Prize at School of Management Tribhuvan University is led by Mr. Pramod Aryal, the HULT Campus Director. On campus events will be organized under the supervision of the student’s welfare society (SWS) of SOMTU.
The School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) was founded in 2012 AD as an autonomous institution formed by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Management. School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) offers Master’s Degree Programs under Management Faculties such as MBA in Global Leadership and Management (MBA GLM), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), MBA in Information Technology (MBA IT), and Masters of Finance and Control (MFC). This is the third time that the School of Management is organizing the Hult Prize at Tribhuvan University.
Campus Representative is another vital part of the team who is responsible to coordinate with the organizing committee and Campus management. Any student who is studying at Tribhuvan University affiliated college in Nepal can apply (except for those who already have On Campus programs in their college). The deadline is on 15th September 2020.
Hult Prize Awards at the United Nations
The Hult Awards at the United Nations takes place every year to kick off UNGA week in New York at UN Headquarters. Amongst the awards presented is the Hult $1M Flagship Prize which takes place following the largest demo day on the planet in the #impact sector as the top six Hult startups pitch in front of one of the world’s most influential audiences in development.
