Gaurav Pahari is a popular actor known for his performance in Saili, Hostel, and Gajalu. He is the son of legendary actor Tika Pahari. He debuted to the film line with Manjari (2013). However, he got public recognition for his role in Hostel.
EARLY CAREER
Gaurav was raised at his maternal uncle’s house. He came to Kathmandu to study at Guheswori School. He was then admitted to the hostel at Little Angels School. Gaurav had his dark past where he was addicted to drugs. He was pursuing +2 at that time. His father knew about it and helped him to rehabilitate and he shifted him to Kerala, India where he completed +2. He graduated from Pune.
Gaurav wanted to be an actor. His father was supportive of his decision. So, they shifted from Pune to Mumbai. His father was alumni of Pune institute of acting. He joined an acting class in Mumbai. He then auditioned for many serials and commercials but was rejected for being Nepali . He struggled for 2 years in Mumbai.
MANJARI: THE DEBUT
Gaurav got the offer from the director and flew back to Nepal for the movie. He had met the director back in Mumbai. After coming back to Nepal, Gaurav prepared for his role for the Manjari. In an interview with Highlights Show, He said he was bulky when he returned but the role in Manjari was different. So he dieted and tanned in order to fit the role. Manjari was not a commercial hit but it was a stepping stone for Gaurav.
HOSTEL: THE RECOGNITION
Gaurav got public recognition for the role of Hostel. He was appreciated for his acting. He played a supporting role in the movie which also starred Anmol KC, Salon Basnet, and Prakriti Shrestha. The movie was produced by Sunil Rawal and directed by Hem Raj BC. The movie was super hit .Gaurav says he could relate to the movie as he spent his entire childhood in hostel due to the busy schedule of his father.
SAILI: MUSIC VIDEO AND MOVIE
Gaurav starred in the music video of Hemanta Rana. The music video was popular and well acclaimed by the viewers. Later, the movie was made with the same name and a similar theme. The movie was directed by Ram Babu Gurung. The movie was produced by Gaurav Pahari himself. It starred Menuka Pradhan and Gaurav Pahari. The movie was also appreciated and well acclaimed by the viewers.
