Bikki Gurung is America based singer and songwriter. Best known for his song, Mari Jau, Bikki Gurung is a popular name in Nepali Music Industry. He debuted in the music industry with Kewal in 2015. He then released a couple of songs including Mari Jau, Mari Jau 2, Khali, and so on.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Bikki Gurung was born on Feb 14, 1995, in Kathmandu, Nepal. He completed his high school in Nepal and moved to America for higher education. He is a university graduate with a major in Computer Information System (CIS). He is currently working in America alongside producing and writing the songs
MUSIC CAREER
KEWAL: THE DEBUT
Bikki Gurung debuted with kewal in 2015. He had no official training for his music but was rather a hobby he loved. He defines music as his escape. He loves expressing his emotions through music and that’s how he composed his first song. He had no intention of being a singer but an artist who expresses one emotion through music.
In an interview with Kathmandutribune, he said that :
Being able to portray my emotions and my thoughts through lyrics and melody is a form of expression I find myself most drawn to, and something that comes naturally to me. I just sit down and begin my compositions with writing down my thoughts which turn into lyrics and move on to developing a melody based on the feel I want the song to have (which I do with the guitar). I then hit the studio to further develop the sound until I’m satisfied with the result.
MARI JAU: THE HIT
Bikki Gurung was known to the public after Mari Jau which became a massive hit. He then released Mari Jau 2 as a sequel to Mari Jau. He did not expect his song to be this hit and was overwhelmed by the support of his fans. In an interview with PartyNepal, when asked if it was necessary to release Mari Jau 2, he replied that the story of Mari Jau was incomplete so he wanted to give a complete story with the release of Mari Jau.
