Bartika Eam Rai (वर्तिका एम राई) is a Nepali musician who made a debut on 2016 with the song “Khai” from her debut album “Bimbaakash“. She is currently living in NY, United States and works as an accountant but at the same time she leading her life in the musical field.
She is an influential personality to the youngsters in Nepal for being innovative in her creative approaches. She is currently self-represented and self-managed for New York and represented by KGarira for global performances.

Bartika Eam Rai Early Age and Education
Her father was born and raised in Chhintang, Dhankuta. Her mother (Nepali Teacher) was born and raised in Gaighat, Udaypur. Bartika Eam Rai was born on April 26, 1991, and raised in a joint family on the outskirts of Lalitpur. She graduated from Budhanilkantha School. She moved to the United States in her early twenties and attended Wesleyan College in GA, U.S. with honors in Accounting (major) and Economics, Finance & Business Administration (minor).
Bartika Eam Rai Music Journey
Bartika discovered singing as a ten-year-old in Budhanilkantha School. Post SLC, she learned Eastern Vocals with Gurudev Kaamat for two months. This was the beginning of any professional training that she would have. Post-A-levels, she trained under the phenomenal Shreeti Pradhan for western vocals. Although limited to a few lessons, this taught her a lot. She learned basic piano from musician Upendra Lal Singh at Nepal Music School. She feels indebted to her teachers, for teaching her everything that she knows technically.
She has appeared on stage collaborating with the underground metal band ‘Gothica’ (2011) and the incredibly talented ‘Night’ (2012). She has also trained under Abhaya Subba Weise for “Women In Concert Episode 8” in Kathmandu (2012). In New York City, she performed with Phiroj Shyangden, Prajwol Bajracharya, Thile Thakali, and Rajendra Karna for over eight months, at Himalayan Yak restaurant (2013-2014). This experience has been significant in her life as a songwriter.
The EP titled Bimbaakash was released in March 2016 and has over two million digital views on youtube alone. Her first full-length album, Taral was released in June 2018.
Bartika Eam Rai Professional Career
She had a passion for writing from an early age. As a writer, she has worked with Navyaata, ECS Teenz and ECS Living. As a songwriter, she has worked on indie home recordings with various indie artists. Bimbaakash is a record of the Nepali songs she has had for over three years. This is her public debut both as singer and songwriter.
