EARLY LIFE

Apurva Tamang was born on 24th September 1999 in Mirik, Darjeeling. He was into music from his early age and started singing when he was 2 years old. His grandfather was a songwriter and he inspired him to do music. He had his vocal training in Hindustani Classical Style from the Institute of Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad for seven years. He has Bachelor’s degree in Indian Classical Music.

MUSICAL CAREER

Pre-debut: Singing Reality Shows

Apurva had started his musical career at his early age. He participated in National singing reality shows such as Indian Idol Junior, Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs, and Indian Idol Senior where he was capable to earn fame and appreciation for his singing.

Prior to his official musical debut, Apurva Tamang has performed at many national and international shows and was awarded numerous honors such as Gorkha Gaurav Samman, Nagarik Samman, Sarojini Gems Memorial, etc. He has also sung in regional music videos and movies including the Nepali movie Dhruva Tara.

Sano: Official debut

Apurva Tamang debuted in Nepali Music Industry with his debut song Sano. It was composed, written, and sung by himself. He says he was nervous to release his self-composed song thinking if people would love it or not. The song was publically acclaimed and made known in the Nepali Music Industry. He says Sano was a huge boost for his musical career and motivated him to compose more songs on his own.

Timrai Tira, Sunideu, Man ka Bhawana: More refreshing songs

Apurva Tamang then started to his songs such as Timrai tira, Sunideu, Manka Bhawana, and most recently Udi Jane. The songs are refreshing and are well-loved by the people. He says these songs are inspired by his personal feelings, his friend’s feelings and stories, and his imagination. He revealed that Udi Jane is a purely imaginational song.

 

Upcoming Project: Secret Collaboration

Apurva Tamang has revealed that he has collaborated with Nepali musical artists for his upcoming project. He hasn’t revealed more information on this and says that it is a secret for now on who that artist is. The song is said to be released very soon.
