1) TAKE FREE COURSE TO LEARN THINGS YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT
The education sector is highly affected by the pandemic and lockdown. If you are a student you probably have an online class. Yeah, that might be boring especially if it is a subject you don’t like to study. So, is there anything you want to study that you are fully passionate about? This might be the golden time for you to study them. Get enrolled in online courses related to your passion. There are so many courses available online which are completely free or requires some minimal fees. Learn what you wanted to learn and earn a certificate that will help you build your knowledge as well as your CV. 2) LEARN A NEW SKILL
You can utilize this free period to learn new skills. Either it is cooking skills, dancing skills, learning any musical instruments, gaming skills, or whatever you wish, you can learn new skills in this lockdown period. There are several platforms from where you can learn these skills. The common platform is Google and Youtube. Videography, content writing, photo editing are the most demanded skills these days. Learn them in this free time.
3) WAKE UP THAT ARTIST IN YOU
Are you an artistic and creative person? Even if you aren’t, arts and crafts are a great way to express yourself. Wake up that artist in you. Get a piece of paper, doodle on it, express anything that’s on your mind. Do some art projects such as painting, DIYs, Knitting, Candle-making, origami arts, clay arts, and handicrafts. It’s a good way for time to pass, a good productive way in fact.
4) LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE
So, you are thinking to study or work abroad but you are stuck due to this lockdown. No worries, you can utilize this time to study IELTS or Korean or Chinese or Japanese or any language you wanted to. Even if you are not thinking of moving abroad but you want to study the language, it’s high time you do that. It will help you watch your K-dramas or C-dramas without subtitle or animes without the subtitle. Learn that language you wanted to learn. 5) GIVE YOUR ROOM A MAKEOVER
Thinking to give your room a makeover, but never had the time to do so. Here is the time you’d been waiting for. Rearrange your furniture, paint your walls if you need them, and give your room a new look. You can watch several room makeover videos on Youtube or hop into Pinterest to get some ideas. Throw away the old things you have used for decades. Clean all your dirt on the bed and furniture corners. You might find something that you lost decades ago. Good luck with that.
6) GET READING
Look in your bookshelves, there are plenty of books that are begging you to read them. Get reading, you have no excuse now. Read novels, your academic books ( Remember you still have exams to give), magazines, or anything. If you have no new books or magazines lying in your home, there are plenty on the internet. You can search for free ebooks, follow blogs, and read some fanfictions and stories on Wattpad.
7) SING YOUR HEART OUT
Nothing to do, have karaoke at your home. Singing would refresh your mind and prevents you from overthinking. There are many Karaoke videos on youtube and you can also install singing apps like Smule, We sing, and Starmaker where you can sing and share your songs. Get that singing skill and get ready to audition for the next season of Voice of Nepal 😉
8) LEARN BAKING
Sad for those who have a birthday on lockdown.No worries, you can bake a cake for them. Go and learn to bake. There are several videos on Youtube where you can learn to bake cake, cookies, and pizza. Bake them and share them with your loved ones.
9) WATCH DRAMAS, MOVIES, AND DOCUMENTARIES
Bing watch K-dramas, C- dramas or animes or Netflix shows. Go and watch them. Who says watching dramas and movies is not productive? You can learn so many things from these shows and most of the shows are even adapted from the books. Also, watch some documentaries of VOX, Herne Katha to boost some knowledge.
10) SLEEP
Wait, who said sleeping is not being productive? You gotta give your body some rest. All those years you have been overworking your body and now it’s high time to take a break and take a rest. Remember, you are not being unproductive, you are taking a break from everything. Get that sleep you had been sacrificing in order to meet work deadlines, project deadlines, or to study for your exam. Compensate all those and sleep. Good sleep helps you to become more productive in your life.
